One day I will gain the courage to truly camp but for now I absolutely love to take a break from work and leave for a weekend to go glamping. It’s easy to do when you live in California because there are so many options near by so I surprised my husband for his birthday and booked us a weekend at Autocamp in Russian River.
Glamping = glamourous camping just in case you haven’t heard about this before!
Autocamp is a unique place to stay because instead of a traditional room in a building, your room is actually an airstream RV that is customized for comfortability and the bathroom is surprisingly really roomy.
The beds all have casper mattresses and it was so cozy at night that we were inspired to buy a casper once we got home! You also have your own personal bonfire right outside your airstream and you get a couple firestarters with your room too. You can always buy more at the main lobby along with snacks, gifts and drinks!
If you don’t like showering in your spa inspired bathroom in the airstream, there are large community bathrooms with showers at the main lobby building and they are really big, clean and nice. There are also two bonfires for all the guests, one inside the lobby and one outside.
Autocamp is really close to Russian River but since we went during the winter time and couldn’t swim at the river in blow up tubes (which is amazing in the summer) so we opted into a spa day at Boon Hotel, hiking in the redwood forest and eating out in downtown Guerneville!
The massages were ok at the spa and they offer couples massages. When we got to the hotel for our appointment we ran into the hotel’s chickens! Apparently they serve the eggs from their chickens at their restaurant.
Best place to eat hands down! Get the Brussels sprouts appetizer and mac and cheese. Yum
This place is so good for brunch! You cannot come to Guernsville without coming here and trying their biscuits. Apparently their biscuits made it to “Oprah’s Favorites” list and now this place is becoming famous for their delicious, fluffy, buttery biscuits. I’m getting hungry thinking about them!
This place is awesome – it’s a bank that got converted into an ice cream shop. The ice cream flavors are named very creatively. I love it here!
Autocamp also has a location is Santa Barbra and they will be opening a location in YOSEMITE in 2019!!!
